Johnny in Salt Lake

I'm in Salt Lake City right now. It's the birthday and one-year anniversary of  the death of dear friend and collaborator David Fetzer. A foundation was started in his name, The Davey Foundation and there was a sold-out screening last night for the kickoff.

Film Archive // Northwest Film Forum

This is nice. I'm often at the Northwest Film Forum but I had no idea there was a room full of films and Gem working on cataloguing them until I asked Adam about where to get educational films from the 60's and 70's. Turns out you get them right there. That's pretty super. It was little like something out of Franz Kafka's The Trial when K finds people working in rooms he didn't know existed. Only its not scary or sad or nightmarish. It's just nice and wonderful and convenient.

I have a special project in mind with these old educational films, more about that later.

Pinball Machines

I took some photographs of pinball machines last Sunday and recently posted them on my flickr page. It seemed like there were all these little nocturnal worlds under glass, composed of disco freeways and giddy, exuberant characters. To see them all, click here.
