Plant Life

I had a dream last night that one of my plants (above) dumped a bunch of dirt on my computer. It was just a dream, but this morning I decided to clean up my desk space anyway. This was after recently shooting some material for episode four of The Heavens involving blood splattered flowers. Isn't that interesting. Also, below is a photograph from the screening I had recently at the Form/Space Atelier. It was a lovely, sunny day out that day.

The Heavens News

DSCN1887_1361

I recently got back from Milwaukee (below) and after a busy couple days working and volunteering have started work on the Heavens 4: "Inextricable Mental Confusion". It was sunny and I had the day off. Would you believe it: I've been living in this room for a month and a half and, because of overcast skies, I've had no idea what a great view of Mount Rainier is right out my window. By the way, the first three episodes of the heavens are screening in Belltown this Sunday. It's part of the Interstitial Theatre at Form/Space Atelier. The flyer I made for it is above.

Night Gallery --- "Whisper"

whispers

Have you watched "Night Gallery"? It's like "The Twilight Zone" only a little unhinged. Everyone looks like they need more sleep. It reminds me of childhood. Less allegory than "Twilight Zone". It's more about obsessive, hopeless stories of the supernatural. It's kind of a sad show generally. But just try and not be fascinated by Dean Stockwell's eyebrows and get transfixed by the bizarre second person narration of "Whisper" It's like a dream

The Heavens Now On Facebook + New Poster Art For The First Episode

H1_Poster_Art

http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Heavens/136814809683151

I started a Facebook page for the Heavens. And I'm going to continue making these 'posters' to announce the coming of new episodes. This one's a little retroactive but every episode deserves a poster. That's my motto.

Our Mother's House

Trailer:

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5
Part 6 Part 7 Part 8 Part 9 Part 10
Part 11

Above links are for a bootleg on youtube. Five years ago I started watching this one on tv about 5 minutes into Part 4-- and I was really into it---it's weird and dark, about these kids that pretend their mother is still alive to the outside world so they can all still live together in her house. So I finally got to watch the whole thing last night after I found it posted on youtube. It's really distorted and bad-looking on the internet----which is too bad because its a really atmospheric movie----but whatever-- I love finding these unavailable movies and watching them even though they look terrible.

Ten of Earth

I may have, in the last several weeks, told you (in person or over the phone) about how close I am to posting the first episode of The Heavens. It is very close to being done, but there's still some sound work, some tweaking of the credits, and some improvements in the keying of the footage.

I was talking the other day with someone about how everything gets done when you're doing great work. The dishes are clean. Phone calls are returned. And people are stopping you in the street to tell you that you look like a "solid character." Well I'm not there yet. I don't even have a job. But I did get work done on the Heavens this last week and a half. And I made another intro logo thing...

The Heavens Theme [rough edit]

Heavens Theme [roughedit] by The Watching Patch
While I was visiting some friends we recorded most of the soundtrack for The Heavens in Brooklyn. Here’s a rough version of the Heavens theme song and some photos from the recording session with Ben Simon (closest), Toshio Masuda, and Peter Pearson. As of now most of the work on the Heavens has been done in warehouses or bedrooms. Below: stills from the current edit of Episode 1 “Astronaut Daydreams” ---almost there!

Skidoo

This is a weird feature-length movie, in very bad video quality and its not available on video. I loved watching this distorted google video late one night when I couldn't sleep. Info Where I found it

"Sleep is an elusive minx and great care must be taken not to frighten her. If you pursue her too aggressively, she will turn tail like a fawn and scamper away." ---Groucho Marx, who plays God in Skidoo
